We talked about Home Spa in the previous post. We are going to start how to use Lumispa, a dual-action personal skincare device delivering skin renewal and deep-cleansing in a single treatment. A package comes with a charging stand, power cable, device, and a cleanser. For the perfect result, please make sure you get the suitable cleanser for your skin’s type! 

Before you start to do it, check if the device is fully charged? LumiSpa only has to charge it once a week, and the battery can last for around a week (based on using twice a day), when I go for a short holiday, I only take the device and the cleanser with me.

How To Use Step Lumispa by Step guide

STEP 1 

  • Moisten face with water. 
  • Apply ageLOC LumiSpa treatment cleanser to all areas of the face.

STEP 2

  • Wet treatment head by placing it under running water. Then turn on the device by pressing the On/Off button. 
  • Each of the four lights around the center button will flash once and the treatment head will immediately begin to counter-oscillate, first slowly, then up to normal speed. 
  • Slowly glide the treatment head back and forth over one of the areas of your face using broad strokes. Do not scrub or move across the face quickly. 
  • The device will do three brief stops every 30 seconds to prompt you to move from one area of the face to the next. 

NOTE: If at any time you would like to pause your treatment, press the On/Off button once. To turn off the device, press and hold the On/Off button down for two seconds.

Warning #1: If you press the device too firmly onto your skin, the counter-oscillating motion will stop and the device will vibrate once slowly. Lift the device slightly to resume treatment. 

Warning #2: If you scrub your face too aggressively with the device, the counter oscillating motion will stop and the device will vibrate quickly several times. Glide the device across your face using slow, broad strokes to resume treatment. 

NOTE: ageLOC LumiSpa is safe to use in the shower or wet environment. However, the charging base should not be exposed to water. 

NOTE: ageLOC LumiSpa is suitable for makeup removal. However, do not use the device around the eye area.

STEP 3 

  • When the treatment is done, the device will stop. 
  • The device will turn off automatically. 
  • Rinse your face with water to remove residual treatment cleanser.

How to clean the device After Using

  1. Take the head off, rinse it with water
  2. And do the same with your device
  3. Dry thoroughly with a towel, or just lay it to dry naturally once they are dry, then gently slide the head back into place on the device, you can hear the “Click” sound.
  4. Amazingly, LumiSpa is waterproof, and you can enjoy it in the shower or bath.

Keep the charging stand and power cable somewhere dry. Charging stand and power cable are not waterproof though!

Or using for some time, wondering when to charge and how long does it take?  How to see the charge indicator? This article will teach you how to do and maintain your LumiSpa for better battery life!

Before the first time using it, the official suggested you should charge for one night, a clear point of view is to charge for 24 hours.

So some customers will ask that it seems taking a bit long when first-time charging, it's normal! But if more than 24 hours have not been filled, it would not be normal, just contact the person who sold you LumiSpa!

It's super easy to charge LumiSpa, just place your LumiSpa device on the charging base!

But there is one thing you should do before placing on charging--keep the metal point dry!

The battery type of LumiSpa is NiMH.  So it means that you don't have to charge it everyday,but  avoid charging after running out of power!

So the best way is to charge when the orange light is shining!

A full charge will last 7 to 10 days with normal usage.

  •  Charge your device whenever you see an amber light near the bottom of your handset.
  • Make sure your ageLOC LumiSpa and the Silicone Head are COMPLETELY DRY before returning them to the charging base.
  • Keep your charging base and cable in a dry environment. Charge your device far away from wet areas.
  • Make sure your hands are dry before handling the charging base and cable.
  • Charge your LumiSpa for 12 hours. If charged as recommended, a fully charged device should function for seven to ten days.
  • When removing the device from the charging base, do so by lifting it directly upwards to avoid damaging the base with a tilting movement.

1. My charging base is not assembled. How do I put it together?

The LumiSpa comes with a charging base (which also acts as a stand), a power cord, and a power plug. To assemble these pieces, align the tabs of the power plug to the adapter of the power cord, then gently and evenly press together while turning clockwise to lock into place. Attach the power cord to the charging base and then the wall outlet.

There are two types of chargers, Type F and Type R. A Type F device can only be used with a Type F charger and vice versa.

2. My device is charging, but the handset is no longer pulsing.

When you place your device in the charging base, the lights on the ageLOC Lumispa handset will radiate for approximately 30 seconds, and the On/Off button will remain lit. The On/Off button will then pulse slowly, indicating that the device is charging. It will remain lit once the device is fully charged. See page 7 of the User’s Manual for more information.

3. The contacts points of my device/charging stand are changing colours or corroding.

The contact points on the device and/or charging stand can corrode if they get wet despite being plated to inhibit this. The device should be rinsed and dried completely before being placed in the stand. See page 10 of the User’s Manual for more information.

The device should be rinsed and dried completely before being placed on the charging base. If corrosion builds, it may impact the ability to charge the device. Build-up can be removed by gently using a nylon brush, but this may scratch the device. This should be reported as a defect.

4. My charging base got wet. What should I do? 

The charging base is not water-resistant. If it gets wet, shake it to remove as much water as possible. Let it dry for 24 hours before use. After this, it may work.

5. My device will not charge or hold a charge.

There may be several reasons for this. Begin by considering these questions:

a. How old is the device?

b. Has it been stored with a low charge for an extended time? (See page 7 of User's Manual)

c. Has the device been dropped or misused? Unfortunately, this is not covered by your warranty.

1. My device does not turn on
Please begin with the following questions:
a. How old is the device?
b. Has the device been stored with a low charge for an extended period of time? Please see the section for Battery and Charging
c. Have you ever dropped your device? Unfortunately, this is not covered by your warranty
d. Is there an amber light at the bottom of the device? This means the battery is low and needs to charge.
Should you be unable to find a solution in your User’s Manual, please contact Customer Service with the above information in mind.
2. My device shakes or pauses when I use it
The ageLOC LumiSpa was designed to enhance the cleansing experience. One way in which it does so is by providing feedback during use. The device will pause every 30 seconds to let you know it’s time to move to the next section of your face (See page 9 of the User’s Manual for more information).
If you are scrubbing (circular motions tend to trigger this) or pressing too firmly, the device will pause and vibrate. Resume with a lighter touch and/or slower movement (See page 9 of the User’s Manual for more information).
Making sure that you’re using an adequate amount of the Activating Cleanser can also help ensure that the Silicone Head glides over your skin more easily.
3. The ageLOC LumiSpa is loud
Your device has a distinct sound to it. This ‘clacking’ sound is a characteristic of the counter-rotation oscillating movement of the Silicone Head and should not be a concern.
4. My device has flashing lights around the On/Off button and won't work.
In this situation, follow the steps below:
a. Press and hold the On/Off button until the light turns off.
b. Place the device on the charging stand to charge the device and press and hold the button again.
If it still not working or the lights flash again, the device is no longer working, please fill in the Replacement Request Form.
d. If you hear and see the Head moving much faster than normal, it stops and then the lights around the On/Off button flash again, please fill in the Replacement Request Form.
5. My device stopped working
Please begin with the following questions:
a. Has the device been dropped or misued?
b. Is it showing signs of damage, such as cracks or dents?
Has the device been stored with a low charge for an extended period of time? (See page 7 of User's Manual)
Should you be unable to find a solution in your User’s Manual, please contact Customer Service with the above information in mind.
6. The color of my device is fading
Discolouration may occur for several reasons. Please begin with the following checklist:
a. Make sure the device is cleaned correctly after each use.
b. Remove the Silicone Head from the device. Rinse the device under running water, then wipe it dry with a washcloth. (See page 10 of the User’s Manual for more information).
c. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasives. (See Precautions on page 2 of User’s Manual).
d. Avoid extended exposure to UV light.

  • Handle the Silicone Heads with great care. Avoid twisting it into place as this can break the clips. Instead, simply clip it on or off without turning.
    Replace the Silicone Head every 3 months.
  • Only use your device with our ageLOC LumiSpa Activating Cleansers to experience the 7 LumiSpa skincare benefits and avoid damaging the silicone.

1. My Silicone Head will not fasten securely.
Please check the following:
a. There are three tabs in the centre of each Silicone Head that secure it to the device. If these are broken, it will not fasten securely.
b. Are there any cracks or broken pieces on the back (white) side of the Silicone Head?
c. Has the device been dropped? Unfortunately, this situation is not covered by your warranty.
d. Has the centre (black drive) nut on the device been damaged?

2. My Silicone Head falls off the device.
If the Silicone Head does not stay on during use, the device or Silicone Head is defective. Please check the following:
a. Does the Silicone Head have any cracks or broken pieces on the back (white) side?
b. Does the same issue occur with other Silicone Heads?
c. Has the device been dropped?
d. Has the centre (black drive) nut been damaged?
e. Are there scratches or markings on the face of the device (beneath the Silicone Head)? This may indicate damage or misuse.
3. My Silicone Head is growing mould.
To avoid this, please ensure you follow these steps:
a. Remove the Silicone Head from your device after each use and when cleaning.
b. Rub the Silicone Head with your fingers under running water to make sure any excess product is removed from the surface.
c. Allow the Silicone Head to dry completely before reattaching it to your device (See page 10 of the User’s Manual for more information).
4. Cleanser is getting stuck between the gears of the Silicone Head.
To avoid this, please consider the following:
a. Is product being applied directly to the Silicone Head? (See Precautions on page 2 of the User’s Manual).
b. Are you applying anything other than the ageLOC LumiSpa Activating Cleanser to the Silicone Head?
c. Are you cleaning the Silicone Head correctly after each use? (See page 10 of the User’s Manual for more information).

5. My Silicone Head is fading or changing colour.
